Deleting an FNI

You can delete a flexible network interface (FNI) at any time.

Deleting an FNI Using Cockpit v1

Before you begin: Detach the FNI from any instance it is attached to. For more information, see Detaching an FNI from an Instance.

  1. Click Network/Security > Flexible Network Interfaces.

  2. Click the FNI you want to delete.
    The FNI is selected.

  3. Click Delete .
    A confirmation dialog box appears.

  4. Click Delete to validate.
    The FNI is deleted, and no longer appears on the Flexible Network Interfaces page

Deleting a NIC Using Cockpit v2-beta

Before you begin: Unlink the NIC from any VM it is linked to. For more information, see Detaching an FNI from an Instance.

  1. Click inside the NICs dashboard to make checkboxes appear.

  2. Check the box of the NIC you want to delete.

    Multiselection is available.

    The NIC is selected and an action menu appears.

  3. Click IconTerminate Delete.
    A confirmation dialog box appears.

  4. Click Delete.
    The NIC is deleted.

Deleting a NIC Using OSC CLI

Before you begin: Unlink the NIC from any VM it is linked to. For more information, see Detaching an FNI from an Instance.

Deleting an FNI Using AWS CLI

Before you begin: Detach the FNI from any instance it is attached to. For more information, see Detaching an FNI from an Instance.

To delete an FNI, use the delete-network-interface command following this syntax:

$ aws ec2 delete-network-interface \
  --profile YOUR_PROFILE \
  --network-interface-id eni-12345678 \
  --endpoint https://fcu.eu-west-2.outscale.com

This command contains the following attributes that you need to specify:

  • (optional) profile: The named profile you want to use, created when configuring AWS CLI. For more information, see Installing and Configuring AWS CLI.

  • network-interface-id: The ID of the FNI.

  • endpoint: The endpoint corresponding to the Region you want to send the request to.

The FNI is deleted.
