Security Groups User Interface

Security Groups mainly uses the following page on Cockpit v1, enabling you to create and manage your resources and displaying information about them.

The ID of the security group.

The name of the security group.

scrNbRed 3

(VPC only) The Virtual Private Cloud (VPC) the security group is created for.

The description of the security group.

Further information about the security group rules:

  • Service: The pre-configured combination between the protocol and the port range.

    You can also use a custom service. For more information, see Adding Rules to a Security Group.

  • Type: The type of flow (inbound or outbound).

  • Protocol: The protocol (TCP, UDP, ICMP, or -1 for all protocols). In a VPC, this can also be an IP protocol number. For more information, see the IANA.org website.

  • From port: The beginning of the port range for the protocols.

  • To port: The end of the port range for the protocols.

  • CIDR: The CIDR you specified, if any. For more information, see Adding Rules to a Security Group.

  • Group: Your account ID and the ID of the security group.
