About Password Security
Your OUTSCALE account is secured by a password that you can change at any time.
When you define a new password, 3DS OUTSCALE automatically uses a series of algorithms to gauge the strength of your password.
For more information about the password security method used for your account, see the official zxcvbn GitHub.
Your password can contain up to 200 characters. Allowed characters are a-z, A-Z, 0-9, and !"#$%&'()*+,-./:;<=>?@[\]^_`\{|}~.
In addition, your password is gauged based on how long it would take for a brute-force program to guess it (password entropy). The following patterns are forbidden:
-
Most common passwords
-
Dictionaries of most frequent English terms
-
Common names and surnames
-
Sequences ("abcd", "123") and repetitions ("aaaa", "111")
-
Keyboard patterns ("qwertyuiop")
-
Date formats
-
Leet speak
The password you define is rejected if the algorithms gauge its entropy as weak.
More generally, it is recommended to change your password regularly and to never reuse the same password for different services. |
For the cloudgouv-eu-west-1 Region, additional requirements apply:
