About Password Protection

Your OUTSCALE account is secured by a password that you can change at any time.

To make sure your password is secure enough, OUTSCALE implements a password policy.

Password Policy

It is recommended to change your password regularly and to never reuse the same password for different services.

Your password must meet the following requirements:

At least 15 characters.
At least one lowercase letter.
At least one uppercase letter.
At least one digit.
At least one special character (!"#$%&'()*+,-./:;<=>?@[\]^_`\{|}~).
A former password cannot be reused when creating a new password.

For the cloudgouv-eu-west-1 Region, additional requirements apply:

Your password must be at least 17 characters.
Your password must be updated at least once a year.

If you fail to authenticate with the right password four times in a row, further authentication attempts will be prevented for 1 minute. This locked time increases 1 minute every four failed attempts, for up to 10 minutes.
