About Password Protection
Your OUTSCALE account is secured by a password that you can change at any time.
To make sure your password is secure enough, OUTSCALE enforces a password policy.
Password Policy
It is recommended to change your password regularly and to never reuse the same password for different services. |
Your password must meet the following requirements:
-
At least 17 characters.
-
At least one lowercase letter.
-
At least one uppercase letter.
-
At least one digit.
-
At least one special character (!"#$%&'()*+,-./:;<=>?@[\]^_`\{|}~).
-
A former password cannot be reused when creating a new password.
In addition, your password is gauged based on its strength. In other words, on how long it would take for a brute-force program to guess it. The following patterns may lower the password strength and should be avoided:
-
Most common passwords
-
Dictionaries of most frequent English terms
-
Common names and surnames
-
Sequences ("abcd", "123") and repetitions ("aaaa", "111")
-
Keyboard patterns ("qwertyuiop")
-
Date formats
-
Leet speak ("p455w02d")
The password you define is rejected if it is deemed too weak.
For the cloudgouv-eu-west-1 Region, your password must be updated at least once a year. |
If you fail to authenticate four times in a row, further authentication attempts will be prevented for 1 minute. This locked time increases 1 minute every four consecutive failed attempts, for up to 10 minutes. |
