Searching the Public Documentation From Your URL Bar

This page explains how to add the OUTSCALE public documentation to your browser’s search engines.

Doing so enables you to quickly search the documentation website by using a keyword shortcut. For example, you can type osc vm types in your URL bar to directly launch a search for "vm types" in the documentation, even if you are not already on the website.

Firefox

  1. Right-click the search bar inside any page of the OUTSCALE public documentation and click Add a Keyword for this Search….
    A window appears.

  2. Fill the window as follows:

    • Name: The name you want for the search engine (for example, OUTSCALE Docs (EN)).

    • Folder: The bookmark folder where you want to keep the search engine.

    • Keyword: The keyword you want to use to call the search engine (for example, osc).

  3. Click Save to confirm.
You can now search the documentation directly from the URL bar, by typing the keyword osc followed by your search query.

  • For more information, see the official Firefox documentation.

  • You can also follow an alternate method also described in the official Firefox documentation. In that case, the search engine will be stored in your browser settings rather than in your bookmarks.
