Estimating the Cost of a Product

As an OUTSCALE Marketplace visitor or buyer, you can estimate the cost of a product before subscribing to it.

You can choose to use the product on one or more OUTSCALE virtual machines (VMs) recommended by the seller partner or one or more custom OUTSCALE VMs in the cloudgouv-eu-west-1 and eu-west-2 Regions, provided the product has been published in the latter Region.

The estimation combines the rate of the seller partner offer and of the chosen VM(s). Two pricing modes are available: on demand or reserved VM.

This estimate does not constitute a quote or an invoice. It is valid for a limited time and the rate is subject to change.

On Demand

To estimate the cost of a product based on an on-demand pricing mode:

  1. In the Marketplace interface, click the Catalog tab.
    The product catalog appears.

  2. Use the filters on the left-hand side to find the desired product.

  3. Click the desired product card.
    The product page appears.

  4. In the Pricing section, select the deployment Region.

  5. In the Virtual machine (VM) subsection, select Partner recommendation or Custom VM type.

  6. If you have selected Partner recommendation:

Select a VM recommended by the seller partner.

The Partner recommendation options are the VMs recommended by the seller partner for viable product deployment. These may include a top recommendation, that is the highest-recommended option for the said product.

For more information about a recommended VM, you can hover over the VM type in blue.

If you have selected Custom VM type:

    Configure the desired VM type.

For more information about VM types, see VM Types.

The VM rate per hour is updated.

  7. Select the number of VMs.

  8. In the Pricing mode section, select On demand.

Only the Monthly payment frequency option is available with the on-demand pricing mode.

  9. Select the consumption duration, either 1 month, 1 year, 2 years, or 3 years.
The estimated total monthly cost of the product is calculated in the Dynamic estimation section on the right-hand side.

Reserved VM

The costs indicated for the VM reservation do not include storage. For more information, see Block Storage Unit (BSU) and 3DS OUTSCALE’s official price list.

To estimate the cost of a product based on a reserved VM pricing mode:

  1. In the Marketplace interface, click the Catalog tab.
    The product catalog appears.

  2. Use the filters on the left-hand side of the interface to find the desired product.

  8. In the Pricing mode section, select Reserved VM.

  9. In the case of an hourly, free/open source, or BYOL offer:
    1. Select the commitment duration, either 1 month, 1 year, 2 years, or 3 years.

    2. Select the payment frequency, either At subscription, Monthly, or Yearly.

In the case of a subscription offer:

The commitment duration and payment frequency of the reservation and of the subscription offer are automatically aligned.

The total estimated cost of the product is calculated in the Dynamic estimation section on the right-hand side.

A discount in the form of a green tag applies to the estimated cost due to the reserved VM pricing mode. For more information, see the dedicated section on our official website (French only).
