Billing Glossary

This page provides a glossary of item lines on OUTSCALE invoices, with information about billing guidelines.

OUTSCALE resources are billed on a pay-as-you-go basis with accuracy to the second: every incomplete hour you consume is billed per second, not as a full hour. You can monitor your consumption at any time. For more information, see Getting Information About Your Resource Consumption.

Billing applies to compute, storage, and network resources. Rates may vary by Region and by hardware generation. For more information, see official price lists on the OUTSCALE website, or contact sales@outscale.com.

Item lines on invoices follow the Product_name - Offer - Unit and Duration format. Resources not listed in this glossary, such as Nets, are not billed.

BSU - Enterprise storage - per IOPS and per month

The amount of input/output operations per second (IOPS) you provisioned when creating an io1 volume, per month.

The volume is in one of the following states in your account:

  • in-use (attached to a VM)

  • available (not attached to a VM)

This rate does not include storage capacity. For more information, see the [BSU - Enterprise storage - per GiB and per month] entry above.

The use of a DirectLink port, per month.

If you need several ports for redundancy, this rate is multiplied by the number of ports.

Traffic is free of charge for all Regions where the service is available. For more information, see the official price list for DirectLink.

FCU

FCU Data transfer - Outbound traffic - per GiB

The amount of data (in GiB) transferred from your VMs to the internet.

Outbound traffic (from your VMs to the internet) is free of charge for the following Regions:

  • eu-west-2

  • us-east-2

  • us-west-1

  • cloudgouv-eu-west-1

Inbound traffic (from the internet to your VMs) is free of charge for all Regions.

LBU

LBU - Usage - per unit and per hour

The use of a running load balancer in the public Cloud or in a Net, per hour.

This rate does not include data transferred through the load balancer. For more information, see the [LBU - Total outbound traffic - per GiB] entry below.

LBU - Total outbound traffic - per GiB

The amount of data (in GiB) transferred through your load balancer to the internet.

Outbound traffic (from your load balancer to the internet) is free of charge for the following Regions:

  • eu-west-2

  • us-east-2

  • us-west-1

  • cloudgouv-eu-west-1

Inbound traffic (from the internet to your load balancer) is free of charge for all Regions.

NAT Service

NAT Gateway - Usage - per hour

The use of a running NAT service, per hour.

The NAT service is in the available state in your account.

  • Inbound traffic (from the internet to the NAT service) is free of charge for all Regions.

  • Outbound traffic (from the NAT gateway to the internet) incurs additional charges for data transfer. For more information, see the official price list for NAT services.

Deleted resources may still appear in your account for one hour, but are not charged anymore.

OOS

OOS - Enterprise storage - per GiB and per month

The amount of data (in GiB) stored in your OOS buckets, per month.

Storage rates vary by Region. For more information, see the official price list for object storage.

OOS - Outbound traffic - per GiB

The amount of data (in GiB) transferred from your OOS buckets to the internet.

Outbound traffic (from your OOS buckets to the internet) traffic is free of charge for the following Regions:

  • eu-west-2

  • us-east-2

  • us-west-1

  • cloudgouv-eu-west-1

Inbound traffic (from the internet to your OOS buckets) is free of charge for all Regions.

Public IP

EIP - External IP not associated with a running instance - per hour

The allocation (reservation) to your account of a public IP, per month.

The public IP is not associated (not used) with a running VM or network interface in the public Cloud.

EIP - External IP in a VPC not associated with a running instance - per hour

The allocation (reservation) to your account of a public IP, per month.

The public IP is not associated (not used) with a running VM or network interface in a Net.

EIP - Additional External IP in a VPC associated with a running instance - per hour

An additional public IP that is associated (used) with a VM or network interface in a Net, per hour.
