Subscribing to an OMI Product
As an OUTSCALE Marketplace buyer, you can subscribe to an OUTSCALE machine image (OMI) product from the catalog based on an on-demand or bring your own license (BYOL) offer.
When subscribing to an OMI product on demand, you pay the price of the product offer per hour determined by 3DS OUTSCALE. You also have to pay the price of a virtual machine (VM) on the OUTSCALE Cloud. For more information on total cost, see Estimating the Cost of a Product. Once you have completed an on-demand subscription to an OMI product, the members of your organization are automatically given access to the corresponding OMI. You can then create VMs from this OMI. For more information, see Creating / Launching VMs.
The BYOL model allows you to use a seller partner’s product license on the OUTSCALE Cloud. You subscribe to a product directly via a seller platform’s website, based on their pricing, and use the product on the OUTSCALE Cloud based on 3DS OUTSCALE’s public pricing.
When subscribing to a product in BYOL mode, you are provided with the ID of a public OMI containing the seller partner’s product. Once the subscription has been completed with the seller partner, they inform you on the procedure to follow to use the OMI. You can then create a virtual machine (VM) from this OMI via your TINA account to start using the product. For more information, see Creating / Launching VMs.
The Product History page enables you to view your on-demand product subscriptions, and the products in BYOL mode you have accessed via the seller partners' websites.
If you have subscribed to a product in BYOL mode, the seller partner has to provide you with your subscription information outside of OUTSCALE Marketplace. |
From this page, you can obtain seller partners' contact information, view their documentation, and download their terms and conditions of use.
Seller partners can unpublish OMI products, for example if these have reached their end of life, or unpublish specific versions of OMI products. In both cases, subscribers and organization administrators are automatically informed by email. Once an OMI is unpublished, you cannot create VMs from it anymore. However, VMs already launched from the OMI can still be used.
3DS OUTSCALE provides support on its infrastructure services and on the Marketplace platform, but does not provide support on the seller partners' products. For more information, see Technical Support. |
You must be logged in to the Marketplace and have a user role to be able to subscribe to a product. For more information, see About OUTSCALE Marketplace > Administrators and Users. |
