Managing OMI Product Versions
As an OUTSCALE Marketplace seller partner, you have access to the Versions tables of your OMI products which list one or more versions, their IDs, software versions, modification dates, and publication statuses. From these tables, you can publish, modify, and unpublish OMI product versions. Subscribers and their organization administrators are automatically informed by email when versions are published and unpublished.
When publishing an OMI product version on the Marketplace, you first need to create an OMI on the OUTSCALE Cloud.
When a new version is published, a copy of the corresponding OMI is automatically created, with a specific product code associated. For more information, see Creating and Publishing an OMI Product. Access to this OMI copy is automatically given to existing subscribers to allow them to create virtual machines (VMs) from it. For more information, see About OMIs > OMIs Permissions, Copies, and Exports to OOS.
At the publication of a version, its modification date is updated on the corresponding product page and in the My products table. 3DS OUTSCALE advises subscribers and organization administrators by email to upgrade to newly published versions. When a version is modified, its modification date is updated in the Versions table.
You can unpublish a version because it has reached its end of life or because of a security problem. When a version is unpublished, the corresponding OMI is automatically deleted from the OUTSCALE Cloud, but subscribers can continue using the VMs created from the OMI. The modification date and publication status of the version are updated in the Versions table of the corresponding product. The last available version is also updated on the product page.
You can also unpublish an OMI product entirely, that is all its versions. For more information, see Unpublishing a Product.
