Creating and Publishing an OMI Product
As an OUTSCALE Marketplace seller partner, you can create an OUTSCALE machine image (OMI) product and publish it on the Marketplace for buyers to view and subscribe to.
When creating an OMI product on the Marketplace, you must specify its general information and distinguishing features, configure a version and an offer, attach the license agreement. You can also provide a template to automate the deployment of the product.
You can configure an hourly, a free/open source, or a bring your own license (BYOL) billing mode for your OMI product. The hourly mode combines the rate of the OMI product and the rate of the chosen OUTSCALE virtual machine(s) (VM). In free/open source mode, only the rate of the chosen OUTSCALE VM(s) applies. In BYOL mode, the billing of the OMI product is managed by the seller partner outside of the Marketplace, and the rate of the chosen OUTSCALE VM(s) applies.
When publishing your OMI product on the Marketplace, a copy of the OMI is automatically created to allow 3DS OUTSCALE to distribute the product. In the case of OMI products billed by the hour, the copy of the OMI is private and is shared to buyers after they have subscribed. In the case of OMI products billed in free/open source and BYOL mode, the copy of the OMI is public. In BYOL mode, buyers subscribe to your product directly via the website specified in your showcase. The seller partner then has to inform buyers on how to activate the product.
After having published your OMI product, you can publish, modify, and unpublish versions from the product’s Versions table. For more information, see Managing OMI Product Versions.
You have access to the My products table listing your existing products and their unique product ID. Your products can be in published, unpublished, or draft status, that is with information completed, but not yet published.
