Subscribing To an OMI Product

As an OUTSCALE Marketplace buyer, you can subscribe to an OUTSCALE machine image (OMI) product from the catalog. You pay the software rate on the basis of the pricing model selected by the seller partner, as well as the rate for one or more OUTSCALE VMs. For more information about pricing modes, see OMI Products Pricing.

When subscribing to a product, you are given access to all of its available OMIs, corresponding to its different versions and Regions of availability.

You can then create virtual machines (VMs) from the corresponding OMI to deploy your product. For more information, see Creating VMs. You can consume VMs on demand or reserve one or more VMs to benefit from discounts. For more information, see About VMs > Reserved VMs and Getting the Price of Your Resources.

You can subscribe several times to an offer to reserve one or more VMs for another OUTSCALE account in your organization and/or in another Region.

To subscribe to an OMI product on OUTSCALE Marketplace:

  1. In the Marketplace interface, click the Catalog tab.
    The product catalog appears.

  2. Use the filters on the left-hand side to find the desired product.

  3. Click the desired product card.
    The product page appears.

  4. Click Proceed to subscription.
    The Subscription page appears.

  5. If you want to subscribe to an offer on a recurrent basis:
    1. In the Software section, select the desired offer if there are several.

      • The commitment duration and billing frequency of the reservation and of the subscription offer are automatically aligned based on the selected offer.

      • You can directly proceed to the step 6. c. of the procedure.

If you want to subscribe to an hourly and yearly offer per VM type:
    1. In the Software section, select the commitment duration, either On demand or 1 year.

    2. If you choose a one-year commitment, select the desired number of licenses.

If you choose a one-year commitment period, the billing frequency is predefined. You can proceed to the step 6. c. of the procedure.

The other offer types in the catalog do not require any configuration in this section. You can directly proceed to the next step.

  6. In the Virtual machine (VM) reservation section, specify whether you want to reserve one or more VMs.

If you want to reserve one or more VMs:
    • Reserving one or more VMs commits you to paying for the resources consumed for the duration of the reservation and according to the selected billing frequency.

    • The costs indicated for the VM reservation do not include storage. For more information, see Block Storage Unit (BSU) and 3DS OUTSCALE’s official price list.

    1. Select the commitment duration, either 1 month, 1 year, 2 years, or 3 years.

The selected commitment duration determines the available billing frequencies available at the next step.

    2. Select the billing frequency, either At subscription, Monthly, or Yearly.

    3. Select a Region and the OUTSCALE account to benefit from the VM reservation.

      • The listed Regions are those on which the product is available.

      • The listed OUTSCALE accounts are those that have been added to your organization. For more information, see Managing OUTSCALE Accounts as a Buyer.

    4. Select a VM recommended by the seller partner.

Recommended VMs allow viable use of the product.

    5. Type the number of VMs to reserve, at least 1.

If you are subscribing to a yearly offer per VM type, the number of licenses that you have selected in step 4 determines the number of VMs. You do not have to select a number of VMs at this step.

    6. Select the start date of the reservation, or of the subscription if you are subscribing to an offer on a recurring basis.

      • A VM reservation runs from the first day of the first month to the last day of the last month of the selected period. For example, if you reserve a VM for one year starting January 1, the reservation runs until December 31 inclusive.

      • For an offer on a recurrent basis, the earliest you can start your subscription is on the first day of the following month.
